[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

(Wait for the entire song to load before playing it.)

Busdriver opened for El-P and Dizzee Rascal last Friday and omfg he’s amazing. I had the pleasure of being close enough to smell him, which, though creepy, is a story for my gran’childs. And this song, my friends, is life-changing.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch (the play) is playing at the Azuka Theatre through May 11. It stars a Swarthmore grad (it would). Tickets are around $15. I’m going on Sunday, I think. The Latvian Society 531 N. 7th Street (@Spring Garden) Philadelphia, PA 19123

SOMEONE GO SEE TELEPATHE AND TELL ME HOW IT IS

telepathe is opening for the kills at johnny brenda’s on saturday night. i don’t know too much about them except they have a really good song on living bridge (the recent rare book room comp).

i would love love love to go but obviously there is shit going on at haverford that is worth seeing/hearing.

someone who’s less committed to haverfest, please go to this show and let me know how it is.

Yo La Tengo

So they’re not particularly photograph-friendly, but Yo La Tengo will be playing at Swat, apparently, this Saturday night — the same time as Wale. I don’t know any more details than that, but if you’re up for something a bit less rap-oriented and want to avoid Haverfest, there’s your bet.

K dudes this is an old-ish video, but I’m feeling the hazed out daze of this track. I hope you’re head’s on a swivel though cuz Prodigy is into some real gutter shit. Remember the murky drift through Alchemist’s vintage NYC in Return of the Mac? P’s doing it again with HNIC Pt. 2 which is technically his second proper album. Yesterday he went on a video-releasing spree (Fader blog post here) which I’m just linking cuz the sound quality is garbage. “Young Veterans” is a good example of Alchemist’s gloomy production and P’s relentless rhymes. Was he really the first dude to sample the movie Scarface?
